History of Our Organization
The Georgia Foundation for Agriculture was founded by the Georgia Farm Bureau in 2014 under the name “Georgia Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture.” As the organization evolved so did its mission. The GFB Foundation for Agriculture was founded with the primary objective of advancing Georgia agriculture and creating healthy communities. The organization worked with partners to create a broader, better agricultural sector and stronger communities across the state. The four founding pillars of the GFB Foundation included: ag in the classroom, scholarships, educational outreach and leadership development. Through careful planning, board and staff have developed a new strategic direction for the organization. Under its new name, the Georgia Foundation for Agriculture will invest in the next generation of agricultural leaders through a developed pipeline of programs that will deepen the organization’s impact in Georgia's agricultural community.
